Not necessarily. We recommend that you have at least 6 months worth of consistent yoga practice under your belt before considering our Teacher Training. However, we do not require you to be able to do any specific posture: no full splits or handstands required! Everyone will start this process in a different place, and it is important that we be able to focus on where you are in the present moment. 

Bodhi Tree’s teacher training philosophy stems from three yoga traditions: Hatha, Asthanga, and Hot Yoga. Upon graduating from the program, students will have developed a personal teaching style, and comfort and ability teaching hot and non-heated Hatha-style classes. You will also gain familiarity with other styles such as restorative and yin, where you can choose to expand your knowledge later on. We will touch on thai yoga massage, hiking yoga, partner yoga, suspension yoga, (hopefully SUP yoga). 

Each day will include a physical yoga practice – so be prepared to move! Expect to be welcomed into a safe environment, and to let go of your fears from day one. Each day of your training will have a different focus taught by a core of senior teachers and rotating guest teachers sharing specific knowledge. You will enjoy intense days of training with a supportive and energetic group of people. There is plenty of independent learning, you will receive a manual that will have you applying yourself throughout the training.
